Okay, folks! I have been wrestling Book 3 into submission (read: logical coherence) for the last couple months, and we should be good to go. I’m going to take a little time to make sure I have a sufficient buffer for real this time—something I did not manage to do for either A Coup of Tea or Tea Set and Match that then came back to bite me—and then we’ll be off.
This has taken me a little longer than usual to set up, and I promise that time has not been in vain. Those of you who follow me on Twitter may have seen me mention that my outline is over 15,000 words long (O_O)—I’m being especially careful in the preparation for this book, because this is my first time wrapping up a series. Whee! There’s a lot to pay off, and I want to make sure I stick the landing. (Let me tell you, Learning Has Occurred on the consequences of character creep… T_T)
Book 3 wraps up this trilogy, but I also have the groundwork laid for what comes next, so here are two pieces of news for you while I finish getting this set to launch:
First, I am delighted to share with you the third cozy fantasy tea pun title I have been keeping to myself for years now!
Book 3 of the Tea Princess Chronicles will henceforth be known as—
ROYAL TEA SERVICE! =DDD
And secondly, I am excited to announce that I will be writing a spinoff to the main trilogy!
This will only be one book, with characters you’ve met and already love, but not from Miyara’s point-of-view. GASP!
So that’s the other reason I’ve been being careful here: I’m not only wrapping up the arcs of a trilogy, I’m making sure I have all the necessary groundwork in place for something different. I have PLANS. And by the end of Royal Tea Service, you’ll have an idea of what I’m up to. =)
Thanks again for your patience, and I’ll be back with new stories for you soon!
(P.S., in case anyone is worried: this is not an April Fool’s joke, I promise!)
